British Heart Foundation – Sammy’s Heart Operation Animation
Required an informative and engaging, explainer animation to help show the process children go through in the lead up to and during a heart operation. We worked in partnership with their agency, to create an appropriately engaging and meaningful production.

The British Heart Foundation required an informative and engaging explainer animation to help show the process children go through in the lead up to and during a heart operation. We worked in partnership with their agency, to create an appropriately engaging and meaningful production.
The Challenge
Heart surgery can be an intense and scary subject, we needed to make sure our style choices would make the content as accessible and un-intimidating as possible for a young audience whilst retaining the core messaging.
The Outcome
We created a 2D character animation with a child’s voice over to make it reminiscent of kids’ TV today and to make it as relatable as possible for children.
This style enabled us to keep the visuals friendly and colourful, and it allowed for them to be replicated across multiple platforms, if required, in still and video format.
