Avon & Somerset Police went to tender for the production of animation to increase awareness of the work that they were doing to support the local community during the COVID19 pandemic.
PinPoint Media won the tender and were appointed to the contract. The content needed to be suitable for all of the regions that Avon & Somerset Police currently cover. We took the decision to create a character-led 2D animation that could be understood by varying age groups. This meant we could focus solely on the kind of additional tasks the police force took on during the pandemic, rather than specific individuals or locations, it also enabled for greater creativity when it came to location style, characters and overall narrative. We were also, due to the pandemic causing national lockdowns, unable to film any content.
Using animation meant that we were able to really tell the story of how the Avon & Somerset Police Force supported the community during this time and enabled us to create lots of different versions for each region as well as other supporting content such as social stills, graphics for flyers and billboard imagery.
